How to downgrade iPhone apps

October 28, 2011
There are many times when developers update an app and make it worse. For example, I hated the new Facebook app on my iPhone 3G. So here is a step-by-step guide on how to downgrade apps from the App Store.

1.Delete the app from your iPhone
Hold any app pn your springboard to enter wiggle mode. Then click on the 'x' button on the app you wish to downgrade to delete.

2.Delete the app from iTunes
Launch iTunes, click on Apps and delete the app you wish to downgrade.

You will then be asked if you would like to move it to recycle bin. Choose 'Move to recycle bin'.

3.Delete the app from the recycle bin
You will probably find a few versions of the app. Delete the latest one and drag the one you wish to have on your iPhone to your desktop.

4.Drag the old version of the app to iTunes
Launch iTunes and click on Apps.
Drag the older version of the app(which you restored from the recycle bin) into iTunes.

 5.Sync the app
Connect your iPhone Then choose it from the left sidebar, or the top bar (depending on which version of iTunes you have. Then choose apps in the top of the window. Find the app you wish to sync and tick it.

Click apply once the sync is completed and you are done!

Launch the older version of the app and see if it worked.

WARNING: Make sure you do not update the app on your iPhone or iTunes or else you will have to do this procedure again.

Did this work for you? Did you experience any problems in the downgraded app?
