The Kindle Fire is hands down Amazons best entry into the tablet/ereader market. As we found in the Fire vs iPad 2 comparision, each one is great as long as it matches your tablet needs. Now if youre like me, your mobile devices take a beating. Thats why I wanted to put together a quick post which goes over a few Kindle Fire accessories which will protect your ereader from everyday use.

Kindle Fire Covers
A cover is a no brainer. Everyones idea of the perfect cover is different. For this part youll want to think about what are the most important aspects of a cover for you. For some it might be maximum protection, while others will want a mix of design and protection. A few of the most important aspects to consider are:

1. Price
2. Cover size/weight
3. How protective it is
4. Additional features

Another point worth mentioning (and number 4 above) is that choosing the right cover can really make a difference in how much you enjoy using your device. A perfect example are cases with a built in viewing stand. The small addition of a portable stand, which is often adjustable, can really make using your Fire more enjoyable day after day.

Kindle Fire Skins
Are you anti-cover all the way? If you hate the added bulk of a cover, Kindle Fire skins are incredibly thin usually vinyl covers (were talking millimeters). While one wont protect from the dings or dents caused my major drops, it will offer some protection from scrapes and scuffs without taking away from the Fires natural feel.

Skins have a two piece design, meaning one piece attaches to the front and the other to the back. They are also removable and leave no sticky residue. Another benefit is that screens are very customizable. Along with hundreds of color and design patterns, there are also a number of companies who will print custom skins to order.

Screen Protectors
Last but not least, I had to sneak in screen protectors. Im sure you all know what a screen protector is and the importance of having one, but they hardly get mentioned. A scraped up screen or worse yet a cracked screen really sucks. There are plenty to choose from, but which ones are the best. Two options Id suggest are screen protectors which have a lifetime replacement policy and/or a material which repairs itself. Both options might sound expensive, but youll find that at most you will spend about ten dollars.

Spending a few dollars up front to protect your Kindle Fire is a smart investment. Youd be surprised at what a few minutes of searching can accomplish. There are plenty of great user reviews, videos and even cover review guides (this ones by me). If you found this article helpful, please give it a share below!
