Facebook changed your default email, here is how to change it back

Facebook recently did something extremely annoying. They changed the default email address on your timeline to show your Facebook address rather than your usual email address. So now if someone would like to contact you they can only see your Facebook address and can not even see your other email address!  Facebook did this move secretly and here is how to reverse this change.

  1. Open up your timeline
  2. Click on update info
  3. Scroll to contact info and click edit
  4. At the top you should find emails
  5. Click to the right of your Facebook email and choose "Hidden from timeline", then to the right of your other email and choose "Shown on timeline" so that it looks like this:

By doing that your usual email address will show up on your timeline rather than your Facebook email. A Facebook spokesman discussed this move:
As we announced back in April, we've been updating addresses on Facebook to make them consistent across our site.
In addition to everyone receiving an address, we're also rolling out a new setting that gives people the choice to decide which addresses they want to show on their timelines.
Ever since the launch of timeline, people have had the ability to control what posts they want to show or hide on their own timelines, and today we're extending that to other information they post, starting with the Facebook address.
What do you think about this move? Are Facebook becoming even more annoying to secretly hide your email?
