iOS 7 is almost here for every iOS device. This article will help get you prepared to upgrade to the most improved version of iOS ever. Read below on how to make sure your upgrade is as seamless and trouble free as possible.

1- Make sure your iOS device is compatible

You need to make sure that your iOS device is compatible with iOS 7, or else the upgrade won't appear for you OTA or in iTunes. iOS 7 is compatible with the following devices:

2- Delete some apps that you don't need (optional)

Although this step isn't necessary I would certainly recommend it, so much that I included it in this article. Deleting apps will make sure you have enough space to upgrade and will also ensure you have enough space to try out more apps later on. It's always good to free up some memory before upgrading.

It's also a good idea to update all your apps while waiting for iOS 7

3- Get rid of your jailbreak if you have one

If you have a jailbreak on your device, now is the time to get rid of it. If you're not sure how this is done, then restore your iPhone to the latest version of iOS (iOS 6.1.4). For more instructions on how to get rid of your jailbreak click here.

You will lose your jailbreak when you update to iOS 7 anyway, but updating a jailbroken iPhone usually leads to many errors when upgrading your iPhone.

4- Backup your iOS device

Make sure you backup your iOS device in case something goes wrong. I would recommend you backup to both iCloud and iTunes just in case. Better safe than sorry.

You should also transfer your music, photos & videos to your computer. Additionally, you could use a service like Dropbox to backup your photos. Don't rely on photostream!

5- Learn what's new in iOS 7

It will be very helpful to you if you know what's new in iOS 7. You can watch videos and read articles on many websites including Alwaraki Blog. I would recommend you read Everything you need to know about iOS 7: The ten biggest changes. You can also check out Apple's own website for more details about iOS 7.

Now all you need to do is sit back, relax and wait for iOS 7 to be available to the public on September 18.
